These 2 volumes plus the accompanying website are a phenomenal resource, giving a huge in depth review of the topic of rheumatology. There is plenty of text, punctuated by clear colour clinical pictures, tables, boxes and the quality of the editing is excellent. Considering it is a multi-author text book, the editing is so good that the style is uniform and easily readable. I recently saw a patient with a problem and wanted to refresh my neurones on the topic. Well this was an enjoyable read and I certainly substantially improved my knowledge base. Not only did I manage to be clear about the confusing terminology about this condition but had a greater appreciation on clinical and management aspects. The chapter only took about 10 minutes to read and was well worth the time spent on it.Dr Harry Brown, Univadis Medical Portal, November 2008REVIEW OF THE LAST EDITION"The new editors have built on a very successful format, and in most regards they have enhanced it considerably. In my humble opinion, this remains the best of the tomes. Just like a good secretary, all rheumatologists need one." — Rheumatology"[An] outstanding reference work...Covers all the bases and is the single text one should own if there is a limit on shelf space and budget...No concept in contemporary rheumatology is omitted or given short shrift...A remarkable accomplishment, notable for its comprehensiveness as well as its wisdom." - JAMA
"This book provides a broad and comprehensive overview of rheumatology, serving as one of the two definitive textbooks in the field…Provide a definitive and up-to-date resource for the field of rheumatology, integrating current basic and clinical science...from an overview of musculoskeletal anatomy, to immunology, to the various specific rheumatologic diseases, to the various therapeutic modalities, the book covers rheumatology." – DOODY'S BOOK REVIEW, 5 Stars *****
